Edsel 1958 – 1960

Often one of the more difficult things in owning or restoring an older car, truck or pick-up, is obtaining replacement glass. Other than for massed produced makes of cars, trucks and pick-ups, off the shelf glass is usually not available. Further difficulties arise when the original glass is broken or missing all-together and therefore patterns / templates cannot be made.

Glass 4 Classics is able to supply replacement flat glass using the thousands of patterns we have available, or we can replicate the glass from supplied glass or templates.

In December 2013 Rod and Nathan travelled to California in the United States, to pack up around 3000 patterns they had tracked down and subsequently purchased. See the story here. These patterns represent almost all the cars, trucks and pick-ups produced in or imported in to America, from the early 1900’s through to the late 1960’s.

Auto safety glass needs to be legally compliant. All glass supplied by Glass 4 Classics meets the requirements of Australian Design Rule ADR 8/01 and complies with Australian Standard AS/NZS2080:2006, or the equivalent International Standard. Each piece of glass will have a ‘compliance mark’, also known as a bug, logo, glass monogram or safety stamp.
