Customer Service Policy

Glass 4 Classics is committed to providing exceptional customer service and quality products.

We endeavor to make sure that all products listed on our website are currently in stock and pricing is true and correct.

Standard delivery time frames are between 3-10 business days; in the event that an ordered item is not available or we are unable to fulfill your order we will notify you within 2 business days to arrange an agreeable alternative item, a back-order or a full refund.


Can any glazier supply new glass for my vehicle?

No! There are a limited number of manufacturers that are licensed to supply automotive glass. These manufactures supply the glass trade with approved glass, that has safety stamp etched in. Glass that does not have the AS/NZS 2080:2006 or equivalent is not automotive glass.

Is a safety stamp required on my glass?

Yes. In Australia all automotive glass MUST have a stamp etched into the glass that meets current AS/NZ Standards. Only S.A. requires the stamp to be visible.

I need windows or a windscreen that are curved. Can you help me?

Yes. We carry many stock sizes for many years, makes and models of classic cars, muscle cars, imported cars and Hot Rods. Please call for availability if you do not see it on our website.

Do you have the right template for my car?

We currently have templates for approximately 8000 makes and models of cars and are adding to our inventory all the time. Check out our store or contact us and there is a good chance we may be able to assist.

What if you don’t have a pattern or template for the glass in my car?

If the glass in the vehicle is flat we can show you how to make a template from the existing glass, or you can send us the old window glass and we can produce the glass to fit it. Tempered / Toughened glass, providing it is wrapped carefully, will very rarely break during transit. Contact us to discuss.

Can you make custom side curved glass for my car?

The short answer is yes. Glass 4 Classics prides ourselves in the ability to make custom glass such as this, but be aware that as soon as any curve is required in glass, in a size or shape that we do not already have in stock (ie: you have completed a chop top on a later model car with curved side glass) the process can be quite expensive. It is also a very time consuming process and it won’t be finished “overnight”.

Can you make a custom front/rear windscreen for my car?

Again, the short answer is yes.
Glass 4 Classics prides ourselves in the ability to make custom glass such as this. If you own a Vintage car, Classic car or Hot rod with a flat front windscreen we can provide you with this in a timely manner, but be aware that as soon as any curve is required in glass, in a size or shape that we do not already have in stock (ie.chop top, front/rear windscreen) it is time consuming. Many customers tell us that they have “just removed 3 inches” from the roof and that the windscreen “will only require the top 3 inches removed.” Experience tells us that this is generally not the case and the shape/curve has changed slightly during the whole process no matter how careful they have been. Custom front and rear windscreens take a lot of time and are quite expensive. They require checking mould and steel jigs to be made etc, all of which takes time.

Can you supply new glass for custom Chopped Tops / Hot Rods?

Yes! However, you’ll need to make a template for us to use. We encourage you to make a working template. By working template, we mean that you make a template from either 3mm or 6mm MDF (depending on your glass thickness requirements) and fit it to the runners and wind it up and down. By doing this, it ensures that the final product will be a good fit.

What is required if providing a template?

Can you supply new glass for power windows?

Yes! Power window kits often require additional glass at the bottom to attach to. Unless the top has been chopped, all we need from you is how much to add to the bottom of the window. Otherwise, a stock template will work just fine. This applies only to flat glass as we are unable to alter the moulds for curved glass.

What finish is on the edges?

We have two types of finishes available on our flat glass and one finish on our curved glass. On the flat glass you can have all of the visible edge work CNC polished to the highest standards. This finish is (we believe) second to none and far superior to all original glass. It has a brilliant shine to it. You also have the option of what would typically be a factory grade finish, i.e: matte in appearance. See pictures. All of our curved glass has the same facory grade finish, i.e: matte in appearance.

What colour glass can you supply?

We have 3 shades of glass that we use. Standard clear, green tint and grey tint. All three are available for our flat glass (grey is not available for front windscreen use though). While only clear and green tint are available for much of our curved glass. Our green tint & grey tint are not simply an aftermarket “tint film” that is placed on the glass. The glass is impregnated with the tint so it is a solid colour all the way through. Glass colours available.

Is your green tint exactly the same as my factory green tint?

Our green tinted glass is an industry standard, however manufacturing process’s and quality have changed in the last 50 years or so. While our glass is very close to original we will never call it an exact match. We always recommend replacing every piece of side glass in particular, as this will avoid any small discrepancies that there may be between our glass and the existing glass in your car.

Do you stock any N.O.S. windows?

From time to time we are able to obtain N.O.S. windows or windscreens, however as a matter of course we do not have N.O.S. on hand.

Do you sell any installation tools?

Yes we do, however we have limited what we supply to some of the basic tools and materials for installing windscreens and other automotive glass in your classic car, muscle car, vintage car, veteran car, imported car or Hot Rod.

What are your quality standards?

All glass contains various types of flaws or blemishes, which may be visible to the naked eye. This is unavoidable – even the finest raw materials contain minor flaws. The federal government mandates that no defects should be visible in the glass when it is viewed horizontally or vertically from 11 feet away under normal lighting. All of our glass meets these standards. Further, we go to great lengths to ensure our suppliers provide glass to a very high standard. All manufacturing facilities within Australia have been visited by ourselves to check first-hand the manufacturing processes and quality control. Glass 4 Classics arranges all flat glass manufacturing and all glass once completed is personally inspected by us for imperfections, before being packaged and sent out.

Can I cancel my order? / Can I change my order?

Due to the custom nature of our business and to ensure that orders are shipped on time, once your order is submitted and approved we begin working on it as soon as possible. For this reason, most orders cannot be cancelled and refunds made, once submitted.

If any changes are necessary, please contact our office immediately. In most cases, changes cannot be made once an order has been submitted but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.


What payment methods do you accept?

Direct deposit, Visa, MasterCard, PayPal.

Will there be GST on my order?

We are a GST registered business and GST will be included on all items and a tax invoice issued. We will not reduce our prices for cash.

Can I pay with a cheque or money order?

If you do not have a credit/debit card to use for an order, you can pay for your order by cheque. However your order will not be processed until such times as the cheque has been cleared by the bank. Usually 3-4 days.

Once I place my order, how soon will I receive it?

If the glass is in stock we will freight within 2-3 working days. If glass needs to be manufactured there will usually be 10-12 business days before glass is dispatched. If your glass is extremely labour intensive or custom, it may take us extra time to get this just right and we will give you an estimated time prior to commencement of job.

How do you pack glass so that it doesn’t break during shipping?

We take special care to pack each order so that it arrives to you in good condition. All of our orders are custom-packed by hand. Individual glass pieces are separated with corrugated cardboard, newspaper or bubble wrap etc and then packed inside a stiff cardboard box.

What is an acceptable shipping address? Do you ship to P.O. Boxes?

The majority of our items are sent by courier and therefore will require a physical postal address. If you do not have a physical address, we are happy to send to a friend, relative or business that can receive the package if need be.

How do I track my shipment?

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipment notification and tracking number by email. You can use the tracking number provided to track your shipment directly with the carrier.

Are delivery times guaranteed? When will my package arrive?

Ground shipments are not guaranteed and once they have left us are not our control. Express shipments are guaranteed to deliver on-time as quoted. We are not responsible for local weather delays or if extra delivery time is required to deliver to rural addresses.

What is a business day?

Business days are Monday – Friday and not weekends or holidays. Please keep in mind that orders and shipments are processed on business days only. This means that an order placed on Friday will usually be posted the following Monday if it is in stock.

What do I do if my order was damaged in shipment?

Orders are guaranteed to arrive in good condition to your door. If damage is immediately noticeable, simply refuse the package and contact our office immediately.

We will ship a replacement order out a.s.a.p. If the package is left at your door or in another location and you were not required to sign for the package or damage was not noticed until unpacked, please contact our office immediately upon noticing any damage. Because of the fragile nature of glass and the possibility of damage occurring prior to installation, Glass 4 Classics has a strict 72 hour damage on receipt notification policy. Therefore please unpack and inspect your glass upon receiving it. If in the event that there is any damage, we require notification and a photo of the damage to be forwarded to us by email within 72 hours of receipt of delivery.

What do I do if what I received is not what I ordered?

This mistake does not happen often but should your order be incorrect in any way (the item is not what you ordered, the quantity is different, etc.) please contact our office immediately and we will rectify the situation.

What do I do if I didn’t receive my order confirmation or shipping confirmation emails?

Order confirmation and shipping confirmation emails are generated and sent automatically so assuming that a valid email address was provided there is a good chance our communication with you was filtered into a junk or spam box. Before asking us to forward you a copy, please check your junk, spam, or deleted item boxes for an email from Add our address to your safe list so you will be sure to receive any future emails on the status of your order.

Warranty & Returns

What is your return policy?

If your glass was damaged in shipment or did not arrive as ordered, we will gladly replace the piece. However, due to the custom nature of our business, we cannot accept returns on glass that was received in good condition and as specified. Should the glass received not be as ordered or does not fit due to a fault in the manufacturing process, this will be replaced by us at our cost.

Is there a warranty on my glass?

Glass is insured to arrive safely to your door. Once it is received and signed for you have 3 days to inspect the glass. After the 3 days has elapsed, we are not responsible for any damage. Please keep in mind that all of our products are very fragile in nature and should be handled with care. We cannot be responsible for damage caused by everyday use or by accidents beyond our control such as careless handling or storage.

Our office is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland.

We do however use manufacturers located interstate and overseas. Often the glass will be shipped directly from the manufacturer and therefore may not be available for pick up from our office.
